Those assumptions we make about ourselves that allow fear to takeover are so reaaaal. Thank you for sharing this and I love to read that you've found your way through it!
I think this is my new favourite thing that you’ve written. Thank you for sharing and if it helps to know that I was surprised to hear you were having such a hard time work-wise because my image of you is like a cozy but still unstoppable force of nature. I hope that you can find your audacity and confidence again and know what an impact you’ve had on my life.💖
"I could see myself leaving myself." I, too, am healing from a season of depression. It takes strength to keep going, picking up the pieces of yourself and building again. I hear you, I see you, and I am proud of you. You got this ❤️
Love love love all of this Giselle - thank you. Your words really penetrated inside my soul. Currently trying to do the freelance hustle and boy is it hard AND I also feel excited by it xxx
I hear you on the freelance life, trusting all the magic, independence and freedom as you make your way through this path, through all of the bits that are hard xx
I don’t have insight into the UK, but here in the US there have been “reparation” and guilt movements in an effort to prioritize minorities by corporations and in public spaces. One of the unfortunate side effects of this is that these efforts are not based on merit, so when those efforts are paused or sidelined altogether, every people group has actually suffered the whole time, because divisions based on immutable characteristics have been propped up by authority figures that inject animus into public life.
It’s encouraging that you were able to zoom out and see the quality and integrity in your work without a push from behind even though an opportunity was lost. It sounds like you’re just one step away from making something happen. It’s just a choice to go ahead day by day. Good luck! I’ve subbed for your article.

They really are aren't they, and we so often mistake them for truth. Thank you ever so much for reading my work.
